To commemorate Arco's 125th anniversary, we challenged our teams to undertake 125 good deeds and raise £125,000 for charity. We knew our enthusiastic and hard working people would rise to the challenge and with four months to go until the end of our anniversary year, it gives us great pleasure to announce our achievements so far;

• 268 good deeds completed
• Over 200 charities supported
• Over 1200 hours of volunteering activity undertaken
• 125 apprentices sponsored

In total we have raised over £180,131 and we are still counting!

FROM TENNIS BALLS TO HARD HATS - ARCO CELEBRATES 125 YEARS IN BUSINESS

Arco, is currently celebrating its 125th Anniversary. Established in 1884, the fourth generation family owned business that won the J P Morgan Family Business Award 2009, originally made tennis balls for the Wimbledon tournament. It is now regarded as the leading expert in workplace safety, with 40 branches across the UK and Ireland, supported by a fast and efficient delivery service.

The Martin family joined the business soon after the company was started and as few businesses reach such a milestone, this achievement, coupled with Arco's mission of protecting people at work, is a true accolade to the family's values.

Thomas Martin, Arco's Joint Managing Director said: "The business that was first formed 125 years ago has grown into a company that, for the last 50 years, has been at the forefront of safety in the workplace. We are constantly looking for innovation and introducing new product ranges in our mission to help protect people at work from ill health and serious injury. Last year 229 people were killed at work in the UK and Arco is committed to providing expert advice, training, products and services to all business sectors to help drive these statistics down."
