Accident victim issues safety warning to workers A former window cleaner, who previously suffered a work-related accident, has lent his support to the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) campaign to reduce the number of slips, trips and falls in the workplace.

Ken Bradley, who broke his hip and wrist when he fell from a ladder in July 2006, pledged to back the HSE's 'Shattered Lives' initiative.

Recalling the incident, Mr Bradley said: "I felt the ladder slip from under me and I grabbed a window to try and stop myself from falling. But I couldn't reach.

"I don’t really remember much after that until I woke up in hospital but I do know I was lucky to escape with the injuries I got."

As part of the 'Shattered Lives Campaign', construction workers are being encouraged to wear safety boots to minimise the risk of tripping or falling when they are at work.ADNFCR-1200-ID-19631259-ADNFCR
