Arco Makes School Safety Visible

Arco Makes School Safety Visible In a bid to improve the safety of local school children, leading local supplier of personal protective equipment and safety clothing, has teamed up with schools across the country to keep pupils safer during the winter months by donating ethically sourced high-visibility vests.

Belgrave St Peters School in Leicester is one of the schools that has benefitted from the campaign. Mary-Ann Davies, Head Teacher explains: "We encourage pupils and their families to think about their health and the environment by leaving their car at home and getting to school under their own steam by walking or cycling.

However the safety of our pupils is paramount and so we are very grateful to Arco for its donation of high-visibility vests which will help our pupils to get to school safely".

Diane Waite, Arco's Product Manager for Hi-Visibility Clothing said: "We take health and safety very seriously, it is important that children and adults are clearly seen as they travel to school or work, especially in the dark winter months. Anyone can drop into a local Arco branch anytime to talk to our staff who are ready to give friendly, expert advice on selecting the right hazard protection whatever the situation".

Earlier this year, Arco became a member of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), an alliance of 44 companies, 17 NGOs and 4 major trade union organisations, the Initiative is working to promote and improve the implementation of corporate codes of practice that cover supply chain working conditions.
