Britain's oldest inn supports 'Shattered Lives' campaign Britain's oldest inn has given its backing to a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) campaign designed to reduce the amount of slips, trips and falls in the workplace.

The Ye Old Trip to Jerusalem, which is located in Nottingham, has decided to endorse the campaign after a HSE report recently claimed that more than 10,000 employees suffered a major injury as a result of a slip or trip between 2008 and 2009.

Rosie St John, manager of the inn, explained that she fully supports the initiative and is "happy to help get the message across".

She said: "We ensure that our employees have full health and safety training. I conduct risk assessments and keep up to date with new laws and regulations."

Meanwhile, Allister Thorn, environmental health officer for Nottingham City Council, also gave his backing to the HSE initiative.

According to official figures, more than 4,000 employees suffered a major injury as a result of a fall from height between 2008 and 2009.

As a consequence, the safety body encourages Britons to ensure they are clothed in the appropriate workwear.ADNFCR-1200-ID-19654404-ADNFCR
