Business is banned over safety breaches A businessman has been banned from directing any company for five years after breaching a host of health and safety regulations, the Evesham Journal reports.

The man, who is from Evesham, was fined £17,000 after the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) discovered workers at the company were exposed to harmful chemicals because the correct safety measures were not in place.

Stratford Magistrates Court heard that workers were also put at risk of falling from height and no safety equipment had been provided.

Furthermore, the company, which is now in administration, was fined £70,000 and ordered to pay costs of £27,507 after being found guilty of eight separate breaches of health and safety law, the newspaper said.

The HSE, which is responsible for protecting people against risks to health or safety arising out of work activities, urges businesses to ensure that their employees are issued with the correct workwear.ADNFCR-1200-ID-19739190-ADNFCR
