Businesses to attend noise and vibration health event Businesses could be set to invest in safety gloves and ear protection with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) hosting a free event on the subject of hand arm vibration (HAV) and noise.

Taking place at Bristol City Football Club on November 17th, the day will examine the health effects such environmental pressures can have on workers.

It is fully-booked, with employers' HR departments, health and safety managers and site service managers expected to attend.

They will learn about risk management and health surveillance in environments where workers are exposed to noise and HAV.

It is a legal requirement for certain workplaces to have such surveillance in place to help protect at-risk employees and the HSE hopes to explain what steps should be taken by companies to guard against ill health or injury.

Meanwhile, the HSE has revealed that it intends to host agriculture health and safety events in Scotland in the coming week, with one taking place in fife and one in Dumfries and Galloway.
