Companies 'should avoid repeats of accidents'

Companies 'should avoid repeats of accidents' Businesses have been reminded that it is their responsibility to look after the wellbeing of staff members.

This means providing the proper safety signs, gloves, workwear and equipment.

The warning comes from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), which said that many workplace accidents can be prevented if the correct procedures are in place.

HSE inspector David Fussell said that it is important to learn from previous cases to make sure risk to staff members is minimised.

"We must pass onto the next generation a record of what we have learnt in securing a safe environment for employees to work in," he explained.

Mr Fussell added that in order to progress, the country's businesses must do all they can to stop a repetition of any previous accidents.

Meanwhile, the HSE also recently suggested that firms whose employees work on fragile roofs take all possible precautions to protect their safety following an accident in Newcastle.ADNFCR-1200-ID-19387131-ADNFCR
