Food safety workwear could be discussed at industry event Food safety workwear could be one of the topics of discussion at an industry event taking place in Nottingham next month.

On September 29th and 30th, the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health's (IOSH) Food and Drink Group will be co-hosting this year's national food and drink conference at the city's Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The Food and Drink Manufacturer Health and Safety Forum and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) will also be involved in the two-day conference.

Among the items to be covered are effective ways of communicating health and safety messages, dealing with vulnerable workers, training supervisors and interacting with contractors.

John Nevitt, chair of the IOSH Food and Drink Group, said: "When it comes to continuously improving health and safety management performance, managers and supervisors are the first line of defence.

"If they fail the consequences can be catastrophic."

Recently, the HSE urged employers to do everything in their power to actively prevent accidents from occurring in the workplace.ADNFCR-1200-ID-19323442-ADNFCR
