HSE boosts first aid course flexibility Businesses who invest in providing staff with the proper education and workwear may be interested in the latest news from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

The body revealed it is amending its First Aid at Work training programme to help companies save time and money.

It aims to do this by providing more flexibility, without reducing the benefits of the initiative.

Mandatory four-day courses will now be able to be taken over three days, while smaller firms can choose a one-day option.

"First aid can help to save lives and prevent minor injuries becoming major ones," explained HSE principal medical inspector Dil Sen.

The doctor added that the changes should help businesses keep health and safety standards high without having to release employees for an extended period of time.

This was an concern highlighted in feedback from companies across the UK, the HSE stated.

Meanwhile, the HSE also recently urged businesses to protect employees from dermatitis by providing them the appropriate safety gloves.ADNFCR-1200-ID-19377973-ADNFCR
