HSE launches programme of free events to promote health and safety The Health and Safety Executive for the West Midlands is organising a series of events that are designed to raise safety awareness in businesses.

Working Well Together (WWT) Group has worked in the locality of Herefordshire & Worcestershire for the last ten years and aims to help small businesses achieve health and safety best practice in the workplace.

Promoting safety in the workplace for the group includes making sure employees are wearing safety helmets, safety boots and other safety equipment.

The events will include awareness Days, roadshows and designer awareness days.

HSE construction health and safety awareness officer Barbara Cliff said: "There are more than two million people working in Britain's construction industry but over the past 25 years, more than 2,000 of them have died as a result of injuries suffered at work.

"Many more have been seriously hurt or been made ill, so it is vital that companies get as much information as possible to help protect their employees."
