HSE organises safety project The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has invited businesses on industrial estates in and around Southampton to a special event to learn how they can benefit from free safety training and support.

Estates Excellence, which launches tomorrow (July 13th), is a new project designed to improve the health and safety of Hampshire workers.

The project helps businesses on industrial estates, especially those which are small and medium-sized, to "identify areas of health and safety that they wish to improve".

Mike WiIlcock, HSE's head of operations for the south east, commented: "Employers and small business want to get health and safety right but have a lot on their plate, particularly in the current climate, so there is an increasing appetite for smaller bite-size training.

"Estates Excellence will address all the commonly asked questions about areas of health and safety, but also tailors support to each individual business and its needs."

According to HSE figures, the construction industry witnesses a disproportionately high number of injuries and fatalities each year.

As a result, the authority implores Britons employed within the industry to use a safety helmet and a high visibility jacket.ADNFCR-1200-ID-19885387-ADNFCR
