HSE to distribute free health and safety guidance The Health and Saefty Executive (HSE) has announced that it will be distributing previously priced health and safety guidance documents online for free.

HSE will be making 250 publications available for PDF download in September 2009 as part of its new "Be part of the solution" health and safety strategy, with the group claiming that the free documents will be worth more than £1 million.

The move will allow businesses and employers to freely access official HSE advice, regulations and codes of practice on a variety of health and safety topics.

A statement by the watchdog said that the move will "help employers better understand their legal duties and what health and safety precautions they need to take, and to help safety representatives in maintaining and improving health and safety in the workplace."

Key to the implementation of proper workplace health and safety measures is the provision of personal protective equipment, as outlined in the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations of 1992.ADNFCR-1200-ID-19205564-ADNFCR
