HSE unveils new safety rules poster A number of changes have been made to health and safety laws in the UK to make them easier for employees and bosses to understand and follow.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said it has created a new version of the poster that firms are required to put up in a working environment.

In a statement, the inspectorate commented: "The new easy-to-read poster and pocket cards focuses on employees and sets out in simple terms what employers and workers must do, including when there is a problem."

The HSE has also updated the Chemicals Hazard Information for Supply Regulations to fit in with new European guidelines on classification of packages.

Paperwork has also been reduced by getting rid of the requirement to register premises such as offices and factories.

Firms looking to establish good health and safety practices in the workplace should provide employees with personal protective equipment, such as safety boots or hi vis clothing.

Under the PPE at Work Regulations 1992, companies are required to ensure that all gear fits properly and is well maintained. ADNFCR-1200-ID-19115086-ADNFCR
