HSE warns of PPE's necessity The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has urged the construction industry to make sure that correct personal protective equipment (PPE) is used when working at height.

Spokeswoman Georgina Speake said that there are numerous dangers involved in this particular part of the building trade and bosses have a duty to make sure these are kept to a minimum.

"Many incidents can be avoided if employers identify a safe way of tackling a job, provide all necessary protective equipment and ensure that workers or casual employees are fully trained and properly supervised," she said.

Ms Speake added that advice is freely available from numerous sources - including the HSE - and most safety systems can be incorporated into everyday working life without any real disruption.

Working at height is currently one of the main focuses of a series of HSE inspections taking place up and down the country.ADNFCR-1200-ID-18466224-ADNFCR
