Hard hats provided for visitor tours

Hard hats provided for visitor tours Locals keen to inspect developments at the new Town Hall extension in Hebden Bridge near Bradford were able to take a tour thanks to the construction company doing the work, it has been reported.

According to the Hebden Bridge Times, complimentary safety helmets were provided for Saturday's viewing by the firm involved in order to make sure the visitors to the site stayed safe.

Trustee of the Town Hall Andrew Bibby was pleased with the progress he saw when he inspected the development.

"The broad shape of the new buildings is becoming very clear," he told the paper.

The Health and Safety Executive sets out a number of provisions that companies need to make to ensure the safety of visitors.

However, the main rule that employers need to follow is that "they [visitors] should be able to work as safely as employees".

This means that any visitors need to be fully aware of how the site functions, including any rules that are in place and the nature of the work being carried out.
