Insurance expert issues safety advice to help Britons combat winter weather A business insurance expert has offered advice to ensure the health and safety of all employees and anyone who might be affected by their work, the Mirror reports.

The advice has been prompted by the cold temperatures that have hit the UK, which has increased the risk of slips, trips and falls for workers and customers.

According to research, common workplace injuries cost employers about £512 million per year.

As a consequence, Premierline Direct's Chris Little advised Britons to make sure that they have adequate supplies of grit and the necessary equipment to clear a snowfall.

He told the newspaper: "Carry out a risk assessment by looking at the areas that may be used by employees or the public."

It is a legal requirement for employers to ensure the health and safety of their employees by providing them with the appropriate workwear.

For instance, people who work in the construction industry can expect to be provided with safety boots, a safety helmet and a high visibility jacket.ADNFCR-1200-ID-19611407-ADNFCR
