Loading equipment firm is awarded for health and safety measures A loading equipment specialist has won SAFEcontractor accreditation in acknowledgement of its high standards of health and safety precautions, the Grocer has reported.

Thorworld, which produces and supplies equipment to the loading bay and materials handling industries, achieved recognition for its protocols from the independent scheme.

John Meale, managing director of Thorworld, told the publication: "Health and safety is vitally important to us, in everything we do - it's a fundamental keystone of our business from initial product design and development through to manufacturing and installation.

"SAFEcontractor accreditation allows us to further demonstrate our positive commitment to health and safety, confirming to prospective customers that we have all the right systems and procedures firmly in place," he added.

Thorworld joins W H Smith, G4S Integrated Services and a number of other companies with SAFEcontractor accreditation.

Businesses hoping to drive up their own standards of health and safety could invest in hi vis clothing or other equipment in order to protect their staff.
