A football coaching scheme based in Eastleigh has acquired a new sponsor. Local workplace safety equipment and clothing supplier, Arco, has provided all the bibs for Grassroots Football Coaching (GRFC).
The Chandlers Ford branch of Arco has sponsored GRFC because one of the staff's children attend the scheme and have got so much out of it. Sally Ghafoor's children, Callum, aged 11 and Taylor, aged 6, have attended the scheme since May 2006. Callum has benefited enormously from the coaching as he suffers from dyspraxia which means he has poor co-ordination and fine motor skills, and scoliosis which is a curvature of the spine and means he has to wear a full body brace on his upper torso. Callum has been welcomed to the scheme like any other child and the training has brought about a huge increase in his self confidence and his co-ordination.
'We cannot praise Grassroots enough,' said Sally Ghafoor. 'Callum has come on enormously since he joined and he has made loads of new friends and learnt a lot of new football skills.'

GRFC holds coaching all year round for children aged 2-15 of all abilities. Whether they are a complete beginner or a regular superstar GRFC can promise to help improve their game in a fun, safe and professional coaching environment. The GRFC coaches take pride and care in the development of all children who attend the courses. Each session is planned and well thought out giving the children an objective to work towards. The coaches don't look for the child that can run the ball around the other team or that scores all the goals, they look for individual and team progression throughout the coaching sessions, and plan the individual's needs for future coaching sessions.
