New safety equipment seminars announced by HSE The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has announced that it is running two safety seminars this Wednesday at the Clarion Hotel in Billington, Clitheroe.

Lasting half a day each, the Client Awareness Days take place in the morning and afternoon and are free to attend.

Geared towards the construction industry, the agenda will focus on health and safety standards - including the use of personal protective equipment.

Dave Charnock, a HSE inspector, said: "Research has indicated that a significant proportion of incidents are at least partially attributable to decisions made well in advance of the actual construction phase.

He also stated that the construction industry needs to embrace "a forward-thinking approach" in order to comply with Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007.

The statement was issued on the same day that the body warned businesses to be aware of safety while working at height.ADNFCR-1200-ID-18388646-ADNFCR
