PPE a good Christmas present for construction workers, publication says Personal protective equipment (PPE) is one of the best gifts that a person could buy a construction worker this Christmas, it has been argued.

Stating that people spend more time at work than they do "lounging around", the North Jersey Herald suggested that perhaps people should buy construction workers something which will make their working lives easier.

Quoting George Chartier, spokesperson for the US' Occupational Safety & Health Administration, safety goggles and hard hats were both mentioned as gift ideas.

It also suggested hand-sanitising liquid and "hats with ear flaps, gloves, hand warmers or thin but warm clothing that 'can be worn comfortably in layers and that will not restrict movement, vision or hearing'.

The article also suggested first aid kits as a good present for delivery workers.

Most experts stress that safety is particularly important around Christmas time because the weather can make conditions more difficult.ADNFCR-1200-ID-18399215-ADNFCR
