PPE being put on agendas around the globe

PPE being put on agendas around the globe Personal protective equipment (PPE) may never have been considered as important as it is now, in countries around the world.

An example of its importance can be seen in the Philippines where the Occupational Safety and Health Center is hosting a four-day event which will stress the importance of PPE as a safety tool.

Carlos Boteros, a regional director with the department for labour and transport told the Sun Star: "The [training modules] provide information on housekeeping, fire and electrical safety, machine safety, proper use of PPE, industrial hygiene, identification of health hazards and their effects - and recognition of preventable accidents."

The UK's Health and Safety Executive regularly puts on events with PPE on the agenda.

A new single headquarters for the body is planned to be set up at its Redgrave Court building in Bootle, Liverpool.

The plan has been endorsed by the Health and Safety Commission.ADNFCR-1200-ID-18348874-ADNFCR
