PPE use stressed heavily by business

PPE use stressed heavily by business The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is a major priority for a manufacturing firm founded by a British businessman and operating out of Vietnam, it has been reported.

Theodore Alexander, which was set up by Paul Maitland Smith, conforms with Vietnam's strict health and safety laws to almost "fanatical" levels, according to the Sunday Times.

Work safety dominates the company's magazine and wall signs feature warnings related to PPE, such as safety gloves, hard hats and masks.

Theodore Alexander is a famous name in the furniture production industry and every item it creates is crafted by hand.

According to the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), the main hazards facing those working with wooden furniture are manual handling, vehicles, machinery and dust. HSE statistics show that wood workers are four times more likely to get asthma.

The sector also faces problems caused by slips, trips and falls and noise.ADNFCR-1200-ID-18443584-ADNFCR
