Police warn against climbing scaffolding without safety equipment Police in Wales have warned against anybody copying a chief constable who climbed up several storeys of scaffolding to assess the security risk at his station, it has been reported.

Richard Brunstrom decided to assess the building's security by checking whether it would be possible for anyone to climb up the scaffolding and through a window, according to the BBC.

It is not know whether he was wearing safety equipment.

North Wales police authority spokesman Ian Roberts, said: "We are pleased that security at police headquarters has been revised and improved as a result of the chief constable's actions but we are mindful of health and safety considerations and would not advise anybody else to do the same thing."

Several firms have been successfully prosecuted in recent years for failing to put up scaffolding properly and not making sure that their workers are safe on the structures.ADNFCR-1200-ID-18397479-ADNFCR
