Professional PPE needed to protect against smoke

Professional PPE needed to protect against smoke It is being stressed by an expert in America that people need to be aware that paper facemasks used for decorating cannot provide adequate protection against hazards such as smoke.

President of AllerAir Industries Sam Teitelbaum said: "We'd […] like to remind those investigating personal protective equipment and odour controllers that standard paper dust masks you can buy at the hardware store cannot protect you from fine airborne particle matter."

Mr Teitelbaum made the statement in regarding those in southern California who are currently dealing with forest fires.

He pointed out how dangerous smoke can be and suggested that those wanting to buy air purifiers make sure they contain activated carbon.

Those looking for personal protective equipment to prevent smoke inhalation should perhaps look at buying proper respirators and other breathing apparatus.

Firefighters use self-contained breathing equipment to stop them from breathing in smoke.ADNFCR-1200-ID-18341425-ADNFCR
