Safety harnesses save workers lives

Safety harnesses save workers lives Safety harnesses have been seen in action this week, saving the lives of three construction workers in San Francisco, it has been reported.

A scaffolding collapse left the men in a dangerous position, hanging between the 18th and 19th floors of a high rise building, according to eNews 2.0.

Their harnesses saved them from an almost certain death, however, keeping them secure before emergency services could come and rescue them.

One worker managed to climb to the top of the building and help one of his colleagues to safety, while the third worker was helped through a window by the local fire service.

The men suffered minor injuries to their legs and shoulders from the initial fall, but were otherwise unharmed.

Injuries of this kind are to be expected in such a fall, according to a Health & Safety Executive review, although the best possible harnesses help to minimise any possible harm.ADNFCR-1200-ID-18386545-ADNFCR
