School children given fire safety advice As part of a national campaign which aims to save hundreds of lives, school children across north Lincolnshire are learning important fire safety skills, thisisscunthorpe.co.uk reports.

Starting on Monday (October 4th), the National Schools' Fire Safety Week is designed to raise awareness and educate youngsters about fire safety.

This years' campaign, which is called Matches And Lighters - Tools Not Toys, will also provide fire safety advice and tips to parents.

Rosie Pugh, head teacher of Castledyke Primary School in Barton-Upon-Humber, explained that the innovative initiative helps children to understand the importance of fire safety.

"The fire safety programme is adapted for children of all ages so they all understand the important message," she told the publication.

"Our older students experience a smoke tunnel which is extremely effective and shows them just how quickly smoke can consume a room and impair your visibility, making it extremely difficult to get out."

Fire represents an everyday threat to workers across the UK.

Britons are therefore urged to use appropriate workwear.ADNFCR-1200-ID-800089701-ADNFCR
