Students should be taught about PPE, MP argues School-age children should be taught about personal protective equipment (PPE), an expert has said.

The Canadian HR Reporter cited the comment while discussing safety in relation to November 7th's Take Our Kids to Work Day (TOKWD).

Brad Duguid, minister for labour in Ontario, said: "It's vital for employers and parents to take this opportunity to talk to young people about the importance of health and safety in the workplace."

The Ontario government has apparently pledged to raise the idea of workplace health and safety among young people.

Mr Duguid also said that all students should be taught about PPE and its requirements.

TOKWD has been running in Canada for 13 years and Mr Duguid said that it was a great way of teaching children about PPE.

He suggested that employers should show children the potential hazards which people have to deal with in the workplace.

Mr Duguid was appointed minister for labour on October 30th 2007.ADNFCR-1200-ID-18350455-ADNFCR
