Teachers wearing PPE at school, according to report Teachers at a school in Barnet, which is currently undergoing construction work, have had to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep them safe.

In some parts of the school, people are required by health and safety regulations to wear hard hats and other items of protective clothing, according to the Hendon Times.

The teachers had been preparing for the return of students, who were due to start lessons again on Monday, but have been delayed by the work.

PPE is a vital part of the safety when it comes to those working on construction sites, which are among the most common areas for accidents of any workplace in the UK.

According to the Health & Safety Executive, 2,800 people have died in construction-related incidents in the past 25 years. Many of these deaths may have been prevented had correct PPE procedures been followed.ADNFCR-1200-ID-18432823-ADNFCR
