Thorncombe-based company given health and safety award

Thorncombe-based company given health and safety award S and D Services, a specialist drainage firm, has been handed a top health and safety award, This is The West Country reports.

The company, which is based in Thorncombe, near Chard Junction, has received accreditation this month from SAFEcontractor.

This has been awarded in recognition of the firm's very high standards of health and safety practices.

Steve Sampson, managing director of S and D Services, told the news provider: "Over the 25 years I have been in this industry I have seen many changes.

"Among the most significant of these has been in the attitude towards health and safety."

Meanwhile, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Building Control Alliance recently signed an agreement designed to improve safety standards in the construction industry.

The agreement details how the HSE and building control professionals will cooperate to help and support each other.
