Worker crushed by lorry A man is recovering in hospital after he was crushed between a lorry and a tree, portsmouth.co.uk reports.

The workman became trapped when a parked truck with no driver rolled forward without warning.

Police and medical personnel were called to the scene of the accident after the workman's colleagues called for an ambulance, the website said.

As a result of the accident, the man received internal injuries, which were initially believed to be life threatening by paramedics.

However, when he arrived at hospital doctors established that they were not as serious as had first been feared.

Meanwhile, the police, who said they are treating the accident as a work-related incident, informed the health and safety executive of the accident.

In order to reduce the risk of such incidents, employers are encouraged to have road safety signs on their premises.ADNFCR-1200-ID-19767324-ADNFCR
