Workshop for employers on safety of foreign workers Employers in Aberdeenshire will receive health and safety advice in relation to migrant workers at a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) workshop later this month.

The HSE event will take place at Hilton Treetops Hotel in Aberdeen on Friday January 23rd and will provide free advice to businesses.

Migrant workers have a legal right to work in a safe and fair working environment, HSE awareness officer Val Holland said.

She added that health and safety laws to both full time and casual employees.

"The event which will provide employers with an informal opportunity to have their questions answered on many issues which affect their workforce," Ms Holland said.

It is being supported by local authorities and the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives.

Under UK law, firms must provide their staff with relevant safety training and equipment to ensure that they can operate in a safe working environment.

Ways in which businesses can comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 is through providing safety signs and hi vis clothing for staff when moving vehicles are in use.ADNFCR-1200-ID-18975779-ADNFCR
