Sign Checklist

Follow these steps to ensure you get the sign you need:

1. Work out where the sign should go - does your sign need to be part of a series of signs that will form a route to an exit? Does it need to be applied to a wall or a ceiling?
2. Choose an appropriate design - e.g. the sign should communicate through pictures alone if language is likely not to be understood in the premises
3. Choose an appropriate size - the size will be dictated by viewing distances, have you considered from how far away your sign will need to be read?
4. Consider how and where the sign will be fixed - this will dictate the material of the sign

New requirements following the UN Model Regulations no longer make a distinction between primary and subsidiary warning labels for ADR, RID, IMDG, IATA and ICAO.

In the future, both will require the Class number. Please ensure you choose a label with the class number shown if this is required.
