What you need to know about changes to the Safety Footwear Standards
In 2023, the safety footwear standard EN ISO 20345 was updated and the EN ISO 20345:2022 Personal Protective Equipment - Safety Footwear was harmonised in the EU and designated in the UK.

Essentially, all current certifications for safety footwear are still valid until the expiry date of their existing certificate, which could be until 2029. Any footwear currently certified to this standard remains compliant and legal and meets the health and safety requirements of personal protective equipment regulation (EU) 2016/425 and of personal protective equipment 2016/425 as amended to apply in GB.
Most importantly, there are no issues with the safety of BS EN ISO 20345:2011, and therefore employers are not required to change footwear that has been already issued with this standard and you can continue to shop our full range in confidence.
